The big idea: Cutting forces deform the dynamometer’s sensing structure, producing piezoelectric charge signals that are converted into measurable force components.
Peak = max |F|. “Model mean” is the noise-free force before the measurement chain, so the chain error is visible.
Dashed lines: spindle frequency N/60 and harmonics. Red line: mounted natural frequency. Shaded: above Nyquist (fs/2). Turning forces are mostly steady, so the spectrum is small unless runout or an interrupted cut is switched on.
Run a cut to analyse the force signal.
Run a steady cut, then record. Each trial stores the parameters and mean forces in this browser.
Sweeps one parameter around the current setup using the force model only. Use it to plan a trial matrix before you cut.
Every constant used by the simulator, with its category: A verified manufacturer specification, B engineering equation or referenced property, C educational assumption or simulated value. Kistler calibration coefficients are never invented; sensitivities are the nominal published values, and a real dynamometer is used with its own calibration sheet.
